Iron and steel are indispensable materials in the construction and automotive industry. The quality of steel and foundry products is determined by the use of carbon via a carburizing agent. In the case of iron and steel products with very high quality requirements, graphite is added with petroleum coke for carburization and heated at temperatures of more than 2300 °C. Thanks to graphite, the final product is rich in carbon and low in sulphur, contains hardly any impurities and absorbs easily.
