Die-cutting materials containing graphite are indispensable for hammer and press forging. Graphite-water separators are most frequently used, with graphite separating and lubricating, while the water content cools the tools and supports the spraying technology. In the case of particularly complex hot forming processes for (high-grade) steel, aluminium, bronze, brass, nickel or titanium, water-immiscible lubricants are used. In this case, graphite is added to an oil-based carrier medium and delivers on the discerning requirements for high-performance lubricants.
