Graphite can also be produced synthetically. The carbonization of carbonaceous materials produces so-called “graphitizable carbons”, which are based on lignite, hard coal, petroleum, pitches or plastics. The GK Group exclusively offers secondary synthetic graphite in its range. This product is produced from recycled electrode scrap and serves as an additive in brake and friction linings, among other uses.
